Telescopic examination of the bladder. This is a common diagnostic procedure in Urology and involves passing a telescope down the water-pipe (urethra) into the bladder. It may be performed using a flexible instrument following the application of a local anaesthetic gel down the urethra or under a general anaesthetic (i.e asleep) where a slightly larger and more rigid telescope is used.
