Ejaculation
This follows stimulation of the penis resulting in the propelling of spermatozoa and other secretions into the prostatic urethra.
Epididymal cyst
Is derived from the tubes in the epididymis and contains clear fluid. They are benign and develop slowly and if large or uncomfortable can be removed surgically.
Epididymitis
This is an inflammatory condition of the epididymis, which is often caused by bacterial infection resulting in swelling in the scrotum and discomfort.

This technique focuses externally generated shock waves at a target (usually a kidney stone) and can be performed without the need for a general anaesthetic.

Flow rate
Uroflowmetry or the measurement of urine flow provides a visual image of the strength of a patient’s urinary stream. It is measured in ml/s and can guide a Urologist as to the degree of obstruction to urination.
Fournier’s gangrene
Is a dramatic infection of the genitalia and perineum. It is caused by a combination of bacteria working together and advances very quickly. It tends to effect men and is more common in diabetic’s and can be life threatening.
Flexible cystoscopy
This involves the passage of a small telescope down the urethra and it gives a good view of the inside of the urethra and bladder and so is a very useful diagnostic test. It is performed with local anaesthetic.

Haematuria
Is the passage of blood in the urine and this can be microscopic (detected by urine tests) or macroscopic (visible to the naked eye). This condition nearly always warrants investigation.
